The article Cristianesimo aperto, published in 1960 in the periodical “Fede e Civiltà”, was the result of an address delivered by the author to the Saverian fathers, theologians and missionaries. The issue in question was produced in collaboration with Gioventù Studentesca and was dedicated to the student convention “Vivere le dimensioni del mondo” held at the Istituto Gonzaga in Milan on 30 January 1960 (with the participation of Prof. Giuseppe Lazzati, convention director, Giorgio Feliciani, Giorgio La Pira, Paolo Mocarelli, president of GS, and Tommaso Li). In 1963 the article was republished in abridged form in “Spiritualità missionaria” (4, 1963, pp. 50-55, supplement to “Fede e Civiltà” 4, 1963). This last version was published in the volume Il rischio educativo. Come creazione di personalità e di storia (SEI, 1995, pp. 97-107) with the title “Cristianesimo aperto. Efficacia di una educazione alla cattolicità” (the text is identical to the one published in “Spiritualità missionaria” but without the subdivision into points).
In 1997 the text was included in the volume of miscellaneous writings titled Porta la speranza. Primi scritti under the title “Cristianesimo aperto (1960)” (Marietti, 1997, pp. 54-68).
